Answer Hello Margaret. Yes, if the door switch is not closing, the dryer will not run. You need to repair the door on the unit.

Answer Hello Tom. You will remove the lint filter and the screws under it. Then release the clips in the front and raise the dryer top. Now you can access and replace the door switch assembly 3406107. Hope this helps.
