Answer Hello Julia. Disconnect the power and remove the two screws in the back corners of the control panel and flip the control panel backwards. Now unplug the lid switch harness and remove the 2 brass colored clips and pull the cabinet off the unit. Once the cabinet is removed, you will remove the lid switch and the lid from the top panel. Then remove the panel from the cabinet walls. If the plastic clips break, use some self tapping screws to install the new top panel 8318064. Hope this helps.
