Answer Hello Dave1322, The high voltage transformer W10238703 is obviously bad. The cause of this could be anything from a bad magnetron to an insufficient coating of lacquer on the copper wires before the transformer was wound. The only way to know for sure is with a test meter. Check to make sure nothing is shorted to ground and nothing is open. There is no test for the magnetron except to make sure it's not shorted to ground. The capacitor 8184813 couldn't cause the transformer to short to ground, but the transformer shorting could wipe the capacitor and/or the diode 8205489.

Answer Hi WTFFrank. Please accept our apologizes as we misunderstood you. You are correct as to the tap winding voltage at this point. As a technical stand point in the field that "What exact" voltage compared to "any" voltage coming out of the transformer discerning as to if the X-Fmr. is working or not will be the usual extent of any technician in the field. We tried to see on your (replacement) X-Fmr. if it gave a Tap reading as you are asking and can not find any. You might call Whirlpool Customer Service @ 1-800-253-1301 to see if their tech. support can assist you with the exact reading you need. Thank you.

Answer Hi WTFrank. As A Safety Rule # 1. You -Never -Even - Try - to- Measure High voltage output from the transformer to the magnetron filaments. Yes, you will have low voltage to the primary of the Transformer letting you know 120 vac input @ x-fmr. is and = good control board output. Transformer output is 14,000 + vac. " Deadly"!
