When the washer is washing, does the tub spins or remains in a stationary position?

Answer Hello Praiman sookar. The tub moves a little, but does not spin during the wash cycle.
My washer when it is on the cycle spin there is a sound underneath and the belt spins, but the washer's agitator doesn't move.

Answer Hello Julie. Check and see if the helix 40047402 is bad under the pulley and is not allowing the pulley to rise and release the brakes. If so, you will need to replace the helix on the unit. If the brakes are releasing and the unit does not spin, you will need to replace the transmission W10219148 in the unit.
I replaced tub seal kit, new lower bearing in milk stool, transmission and a new belt. After installing all the above the pulley does not release the brake to spin nor does the pulley go down to engage the Helix. I removed the motor and checked the motor rpm with a digital tach for rpm and also for the correct direction depending. I thought maybe the brake was too tight to see if would at least spin so I sprayed the brake rotoe with spray silicone but that did not nelp. I also removed the pulley and helix to inspect and they are fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Phil

Answer Hi Mr. J. Use a little of grease on the lower helix -to trans.-spline dogs so the helix will easily slide up and down on the shaft splines. Anywhere 2 pieces of metal contacts one another then it needs grease in between the 2 sparingly so they work together(if not already in a lubricated area). As you rotate the main pulley one way the agitator will operate and you will hear a click, click, click. In the opposite direction the pulley upper washers will engage the brake rotor and release the clutch plate (similar to a car manual clutch) which spreads open and releases the brake pads. If the steel washer part # 40063201 is not placed above the pulley first as the plastic fiber washer above it part # 40065701 they will not work correctly and engage the brake rotor properly. If the bottom trans. shaft pulley bolt is not lok-tited on it will work loose and not allow the system to work. You then will hear a clunk, clunk, clunk and see the bottom bolt loose. Thank You.
