My GE washer is leaking from underneath the drive pulley. I recently replaced the hub seal and the hub nut and it still leaks. All the hoses and pumps are not leaking. It appears to leak more when it's spinning.
Answer Mike, Your washing machine doesn't have an accessible transmission shaft seal. In your case, you'll need to replace the WH38X10017 shaft and mode shifter assembly. The assembly is a one piece sealed unit and needs to be replaced as a unit.
How do I replace the transmission shaft oil seal (91939)?
Answer Hello Bob,
The basketdrive assembly will have to be dis-assembled to replace this part. Since this involves replacing the other parts in the basketdrive and getting it back together properly is imperative to normal operation, I would recommend to replace the basketdrive as an assembly 285792. If you decide to go ahead with this repair, you should take plenty of pictures with your cell phone during the dis-assembly process to refer back to during the re-assembly.
