Maytag MFI2569VEB2 tube with waterline replacement
To replace the fill tube on your unit you will need to pull the unit out and disconnect the power supply and turn off the water. Open the refrigerator section and remove the shelves on the right side including the crisper pans and crisper shelves. Remove the wall on the right side rear of the refrigerator section and disconnect the small tube from the water valve. Once this is done you will need a step ladder to access the top of the unit. Remove the cover on the left side and the fill tube is there. Pull out the part that goes down into the top of the ice compartment then pull the tub out and install new in reverse.
Purchasing AP4080758 for my Kitchenaid refrigerator. Pretty mechanical, but can't figure out to how to remove this. With the rubber o rings shown in on picture of the part, it looks as lift it just push fits in. Not certain if there is a keeper or clip holding it. Or if I must remove the ice maker. Any help appreciated.
Answer Hello Mike. To replace the ice maker fill tube, you'll need to work from both compartments and the top of the refrigerator. Move the refrigerator out if needed, and turn off the water supply to the refrigerator. Remove the shelves on the right side of the refrigerator compartment, this will give you access to the panel covering the fill valves and water tank. Remove cover on back bulkhead by inserting screwdriver in slots to release tabs. Disconnect the upper water tube from the fill valve(press in on the collar that surrounds the tube on the valve and pull out on the tube. Remove the ice bin from the ice box compartment, in the left rear area of the top panel you'll see the cover plate remove the screw and lift the plate off the refrigerator. Using a pair of pliers grasp the top of the fill tube grommet and extract the assembly by pulling up and applying a side to side motion. once the grommet and fill tube is out, insert the fill tube into the channel opening and "feed" it back to the water valve, once the grommet is in position, insert it through the opening in the ceiling and press down until the grommet is seated. reach inside the ice box, above the ice maker and tug down on the fill tube grommet, to make sure it has seated and sealed properly. Reverse the procedure, reinstall the panels and shelves, turn the water supply back on.
There is a bad Odor coming out of the top of the refrigerator where the tube with the waterfowl is. What needs to be done?
If you look at the top of the refrigerator, there should be a cover that goes over a fill tube that would fill the icemaker. You will want to check this to make sure that it is not damaged or leaking as this could cause water to stand. This should not create a fowl odor and you will need to search for the source of the odor.
