The tube coming out of the water inlet valve is leaking at the connection. I tried replacing the inlet valve but it still leaks at the compression connection. Is there a way to just replace the end of the tubing with the connection? The other end goes into the refrigerator back & I don't want to have to take off the back to fix it. Thanks.
Answer Hello Dave,
Push the water line into the valve assembly and while holding the pressure against it, push the ring around the water line toward the valve. Now while continuing to hold the ring, pull the water line out. Now, cut about 1/4 of an inch off of the end of th4e water line. Be sure it is cut off squarely. Now push the water line back into the valve. When it bottoms, push it extra hard and it will pop in another 1/4 inch or so. Now to seat the seal, simply pull on the water line without holding the ring or anything. If this doesn't stop the water from leaking from the connection, you will have to change the water line.
