The shaft and auger separate and the auger floats up. With a new part, 21001878 the same thing happens. Is the part defective or am I missing something?

Latest Questions

Agitator doesn't rotate during cycle. The drum spins to drain the water but the auger doesn't spin to clean the clothes. It makes the "motor noise" as it would usually but the auger is not turning. I checked the agitator base and it seems to be in good shape and the bolt connecting the base and the top agitator is fine and tight. Im assuming it is the top agitator / auger piece that needs to be replaced 21001878? Thoughts?

Washer makes a loudish clicking noise when it goes into agitation mode. When running the noise has been getting louder. I have taken out the agitator and it is silent when the machine is in spin or water is pumping in. I am hoping it is in the upper agitator. I have taken the upper part out and tried to run it without the upper section on the lower agitator and the noise is not there. Any suggestions?

I am not confident about part names, but the thing in the middle of the drum that moves the contents is not staying connected. White screw type things have come loose with each wash lately. The agitating thing pops up during wash cycles now. Do I need to replace the whole middle thing? Thank you for your help and I am sorry I am so ignorant.
