I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I'm having a really hard time getting the Start button to actually start the dishwasher. I have to keep pressing numerous times before the selected cycle light flashes indicating it has started. What parts do you think need to be replaced? All the other buttons appear to work normally...it's just the start button.

The plastic push button cover over the electronic control panel that you use to select cycle mode, options, and Start or Cancel is cracked over some of the buttons and the plastic Start Button is missing. The dishwashwer works fine. I just need a new plastic push button cover.

The cancel button doesn't light up or work. The rest of the buttons do light up and function properly. I understand this is a common problem for kitchenaid, and eventually the rest of the buttons will continue to fail. What part(s) do I need? Thank you.

Latest Questions

Our dishwasher Control Panel has only the control lock, sanitized, clean light illuminated. None of the cycle or options buttons will light up if pushed. Start or Cancel will cause the control lock, sanitized, clean light to blink a few times and then stop. We are unable to start the dishwasher.

Rinse Only LED doesn't on nor cycle doesn't work, and it doesn't fully work on the other cycles either. when I selected Normal or Quick Clean Up...The washer starts it cycle for a few minutes of Pre Wash then it stops, I waited 20 minutes or so before opening the door, I found the Rinse Only LED on and water at the bottom of the washer. some time it drains out quite well and some time it doesn't, it just stops right there before the Rinse cycle, and I press Cancel, both Cancel and Rinse LED blink.

It seems I have a common problem - All the control panel lights work but the dishwasher won't start... If I press the "Start" button many times (50-60) it eventually catches and the unit starts. Sounds like I need a new User Interface board, correct? Thanks for your assistance. The Q&A on your site is SO helpful mike
