Hi, I have the indicated Whirpool Washer (top loader) which leaks water from its base. Inlet hose points outside the body plus the drain pipe appear to be fine (no leaks). Since the water leaked is fresh, the source of leak is apparently between the inlet cold/hot valves and tub. Can you advise where could be the fault and what are the parts involved. Thanks
Answer James, There are a couple of parts to check. First thing is the flume or vacuum break. this is in the center top portion of the opening, where the water cascades into the tub. It can get knocked out of position or distorted if the washer is overloaded or an article gets caught between the tub cover and washer top panel. There is also the inlet water tube 3357328 which connects to the flume and is routed down to the fill valve. You'll need to check the hose and clamps to make sure they aren't loose, cracked or distorted as well.
