Hello... It seems like my dishwasher is NOT filling up with enough water, therefore when it runs it make a loud humming noise, and I don't hear the water splashing around like it use too, but when I open the door It looks wet but not enough to melt the soap either. Thanks in Advance for your help...

The dishwasher in our new house leaks through a faulty door gasket/seal - this was found during the home inspection. When I began to troubleshoot the issue, I noticed that the tub fills with (and doesn't drain) water without the dishwasher having been run. When I drain the tub (the drain function on the dishwasher works when you hold down that button) and shut off the water supply, the problem doesn't resurface. When I turn the supply valve back on to hand-wash some dishes in the sink, the tub begins to fill again at a very slow rate - the over-spill might start to happen after 24 hours or so of having hot water pressure. I disconnected the power to the unit at the circuit breaker and tested the resistance of the water inlet valve. This reading was right at 1,000 ohms, which I understand is right in the middle of the working electrical specification. I have to assume at this point that the valve is slightly stuck in the open position, or that there's a faulty gasket or o-ring in that part. Along with ordering a new door gasket, I am looking for validation that Whirlpool part 6-920534 is my most likely point of failure in relation to this problem. Many thanks, Joe

Hi: We had frozen pipes over the weekend and forgot to drain the dishwasher prior to leaving. Yesterday, when we got all the water working, we started the dishwasher and water started running out the door. This happened several years ago and we replaced the water inlet valve. Does this sound like the same issue? I just ordered the part and hope I made the right diagnosis...

During some unrelated plumbing work in the house, I ended up with sediment throughout the system including at every faucet & appliance. I cannot seem to be able to locate the sediment filter on my dishwasher, (Maytag Quiet Series 100 MDB5600AWW).

I am only getting 75 VAC at the Water inlet Valve. It should be 120 VAC. I have replaced the control board. Then a new water inlet valve. What else could cause this?
