I have gas leaking out of the the end of the tube that comes out of the gas vavle that goes to the oven
Answer Tod, With that basic description, you're on the right track, Yes you will need a new gas valve 98014016 .The internal valve components are not shutting and sealing properly. Thats not a common occurrence. Good Luck and Thanks
Does the Valve-Gas part number ap3180965 control when the gas turns on to light the oven? the glow ignitor is working but the oven does not light and i do not smell any gas. The range top workd fine
Answer Jeff, The gas valve is the component that opens and releases the gas for ignition. But the Igniter 98005652 controls the gas valve. When the glow bar is glowing, at the same time it has to produce a 3.2 to 3.6 amperage draw on the system, or produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC at the gas valve, in order to open the internal switch. The igniter may glow, but if it does not produce the amp or VAC at the valve, it won't release the gas and the burner won't ignite. Test or replace the igniter, before you replace the valve. Thanks and Good Luck.
