My Whirlpool oven does not work. The controls are all working though but when I turn on the oven, there is no flame coming out? Is it the gas valve?
Answer Hello Meila. You will need to check and see if the oven igniter is sparking to lite the gas. If it is not, you may need to replace the spark module W10331686. Hope this helps.

The oven will not light. The burners light and function properly. The oven ignitor is clicking and producing spark. There is a faint smell of gas,but the oven will not light? I'm thinking gas valve?
You will want to check the oven safety valve for 216O of resistance between bake and common terminals. If there is not proper resistance then the valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then you will want to check the burner for clogs or rust around the ports at this could cause a bad gas flow and cause the oven to not ignite.
During elec. power failuer can the top burners and oven be lit with matches? If not, can a Battery Spark Ignition system be installed to replace the existing electrical digital? Should you care not to discuss the latter issue in your Q/A, I would appreciate a phone call
Answer Chuck, In the event of a power outage, YES, the cooktop gas burners can be lit with a match, but you have to be careful, you may prefer to use a grille or barbeque lighter. Unfortunately, the oven burner wont light or cycle without electrical power to the igniter and safety valve. We don't see how a battery operated spark ignition system would be effective or conducive to the situation. The cost and engineering could be pretty restrictive.
