My Whirlpool oven does not work. The controls are all working though but when I turn on the oven, there is no flame coming out? Is it the gas valve?

Answer Hello Meila. You will need to check and see if the oven igniter is sparking to lite the gas. If it is not, you may need to replace the spark module W10331686. Hope this helps.

Good morning, My oven will not turn on, heat up, nothing. When I turn on the bake function, timer comes on and counts down but oven will not do nothing. There are no clicking sounds as if the ignitor was trying to ignite the gas. I do not smell any gas when I turn the oven on, however, when I turn the broiler on, there are 2 clicks tryng to ignite the broiler but still nothing, no gas smell either. I was told by my brother this might be some sort of valve, could you please let me know? Thank you

Answer Deb,
Test for 3.2-3.6 amps at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
