Dryer works fine and timer advances if you use in minutes to dry mode. If you use the regular or permanent press cycles the timer will not advance and clothes do not dryer. Have swapped out the coils and the timer with no luck. At a bit of a loss on this one...

Dryer stopped heating and diagnosed as gas valve issue. Ordered original part 8318281 replaced by W10480542. Sears sent a box with W10480542 on outside but only labeled part inside was W10304604. Your web site shows the W10304604 as AP5631292 and Mfg number W10500695. What model does this belong on or does it go with Model 110.74982300 and is W10304604 a subpart of W10480542? I have talked with Sears supplier 8 times now and can't get anything in terms of technical information and 3 more boxes of same numbers. Thanks, Bill

I purchases a Kenmore gas dryer in 2007. The unit has been problematic from the beginning. I again have no heat. The thermal fuse (AP3132867), cycling thermostat (AP3131939) and high limit thermostat (AP3084674) are all shorted at room temperature as they should be. Upon start up the system tries to light with the igniter, but I get no gas. The problem is definitely the coils. On the three terminal coil I have just over 1380 Ohms between the left and middle pins, but have no conductivity between the middle and right pin. I now have ten sets of dead coils with the same failure mode from one dryer. That means I average about six months on a set of coils. Should I be thinking about replacing the gas valve? My thoughts are that I have a sticky mechanism that requires more current to actuate, and I ultimately burn out the coil.

Does this gas valve (ap5607457) for maytag dryer mgdc300xw1, need a blocking pin when converting to lp gas from natural, or do you just turn the faceplate on the valve from ng to lp? doug

I have no heat and the timer is only advancing on the non-heat cycle. I was going to replace the heating element when I read a blog that the issue between the heat and the timer was related. Your chat line suggested I check the coils, and I saw also that there is a fuse. I can see the fuse causing one or the other, but both? The coils I can see affecting the heat, but not the timer. Where I can look to get an answer to my dilema? -My washer next to the dry lost a drum stabilizer and shakes pretty good on spin :-) so it could be just loose connections...? But it would be helpful to know which connections to check!
