The water valve ( AP3890667) on my refrigerator is leaking (spraying is more accurate) when water runs thru. Both the water dispenser & ice maker are getting water. I assume the fix is to replace the valve. Anything else to check or replace other than that?
Answer Don, The valve would be the place to start. but you also want and need to check the water tubes from the valve to the ice maker and the tube from the valve to the reservoir. Make sure they are seated tightly and properly in the "John Guess" compression fittings. If they aren't seated and "locked" in place on the valve, they will leak / spray.
I'm getting 166 ohms off the green and 335 off the blue is green bad?
Answer Hello Jason. The best way to test the valve is a voltage test. If there is power to it, and it does not let water in, replace the valve. The manufacturer does not offer the ohms value of the solenoids.
Fridge is tripping ground fault. What can I check?
Answer Hello Perry,
You can check amp draw on the compressor. Before you plug unit in put amp clamp on the red wire going to compressor [W10309988]. When you plug unit into wall watch the amp draw. If you have more than 9 amps then you have a failed compressor and it is what is tripping breaker.
