Answer Hello Perry, You can check amp draw on the compressor. Before you plug unit in put amp clamp on the red wire going to compressor [W10309988]. When you plug unit into wall watch the amp draw. If you have more than 9 amps then you have a failed compressor and it is what is tripping breaker.
