I have a Whirlpool dishwasher that has gone through a series of related problems. The inital problem was when I try to run a cycle, the lights come on as they normally would, start to fill with water but after about 30 seconds the unit would turn off. But if I tried a few more times it would eventually work. Then it changed to where the lights still come on, but wouldn't fill and then sometimes would shut off. So the technician replaced the inlet valve. However, still having the same problem. I feel like it is something in the latch, technician thinks it could be something in the computer. Any thoughts?

Hello, after a very cold spell, my dishwasher started filling up with water even when it wasn't turned on. The only way to get it to stop was to shut off the power supply. Do I need to replace the water inlet valve? Is this also called the electronic solenoid valve? Are these they same thing? Also, there seem to be two parts with a similar name... #4 and #7 (on page 4, fill parts). I believe I need to replace the #7 part. Con you confirm. Help is much appreciated! Thank you.

My dishwasher brings in a small amount of water and then there is a buzzing noise and no more water enters. Could this be the intake valve? I can not see where this part is when I look under the machine. Any clue?

Latest Questions

Hello, I have a KitchenAid KUDS40FVPA4 dishwasher that suddenly overflowed from the door. After cleaning the hoses and drain pipes I noticed that the unit keeps pulling in water regardless if the door is open or closed once I open the valve. After resetting the cycle it did drain the remaining water so I'm narrowing this down to the water inlet valve being faulty and not knowing to stop asking for water. Question is, which is the right water inlet valve to order? Thanks, Todd

The minute this DW was installed I began to have water hammer issues (where the prior DW did not). I suspect its an issue with the valve closing too quickly. Would this part be a good place to start or could it elsewhere?
