Still getting water and ice but a puddle of water appears ever so often by left front of fridge. Changed water filter last week..is hooked up to a reverse osmosis system. Do you think the inlet valve is going bad?
Answer Hello David,
You may have to install a pump after the RO system to increase water pressure to sufficiently close the water valve. The manufacturer recommends from 60 to 120 PSI water pressure for the water valve to operate properly.
Woke up this morning with puddle of water by the left front of fridge. have already replaced water filter...do you think water inlet valve is bad?
Answer Hello Dave,
This is most likely a stopped up defrost drain. You will need to remove the back wall in the freezer compartment and use a hair dryer to melt the defrost drain. Then pour a cup of hot water down the drain. Then put in a tablespoon of white vinegar. If the problem recurs, a heat probe 819043 may be added to help prevent the defrost drain from freezing.
I have no water going to the ice maker ice maker is not cycling or making any noise
Answer Hello Allen. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
