Last year when using the oven in our RV. I turned oven knob to Pilot on, it took awhile but it finally lit. once lit I set the knob to 350 to pre heat. When I checked on it later the oven and pilot light were off. What steps do I take in diagnosing the pilot light, thermostat and valve myself.I've already researched part #'s but I cant seam to find the DIY pages like I did for my furnace last year.

Answer Hello Lonnie,
The last three gas units I serviced in RV's were the thermocouple. The one before that was the safety valve. The thermocouples are more prone to failure because they are actually in the flame the entire time the unit is running. I replaced the thermocouple on the one with the bad safety valve in anticipation of it's failure as I knew it would fail soon and wanted to save the customer the extra labor charge for an additional trip.
The oven pilot lights and stays on but the burner does not ignite. I tried a match at the burner, but no go! Thanks

Answer Hello Steve. You will need to check and see if the thermostat W10125661 is working properly. If not, it will not allow gas to the burner. If it is good, replace the valve 7501P056-60. Hope this helps.
Is there a way to replace just the thermocouple?

Answer Hello Chris. They sell this as an assembly. They do not offer just the thermocouple. Hope this helps.
