I ordered and installed a new gas valve for my stove. After installing a new valve my oven burner flutters and does not keep a consistent flame. It does not go out though. I have consistent voltage to the valve. I might need a new regulator valve? The reason i got a new valve is the oven was not heating up at all.
Answer Joe, If the regulator was faulty, you should have the same issues with the top burners fluttering also. Do you have the same problem with the broil burner ? Remove the burner tubes and shake them, do you hear a rattling noise ? look inside the tube(s) and see if they are corroded on the inside. Also check the shutter(s), Make sure they are adjusted for the type gas you are using LPG shutter needs to be fully open, then adjust/fine tuned NAT G shutter open 3/4 , then fine tuned. after the burner is on for a few minutes.
Where do you check the oven safety valve for the 3.5 amps?? I checked were they have two flat prongs with the oven and igniter on and get nothing.
If you tested at the 2 spade connectors on the valve with the unit set to bake and there was no reading then you will need to check to see if the igniter is getting 120 vac. If the igniter is getting proper voltage but not coming on then the igniter is bad and would need to be replaced.
