Do I need to change the orifice in the oven or just tighten it down when I convert from natural gas to lp.

Oven working correctly but suddenly a minor gas smell/leak has developed when the unit is off. Gas line to stove has been soapy water checked and no leaks. All gas lines that can be reached through the drawer opening have also been checked along with all safety valve fittings. After turning on gas line shutoff valve, gas smell seems to first develop in the oven area before traveling elsewhere. However during this time there is not enough gas at the burner at the top of the oven to have any effect on an external flame. Are there any known issues with the gas/safety valves functioning but not fully closing? Also any other thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated. TIA
