Top burners work fine. Oven/boiler will not work. Display reads 100 but never goes up. No glow in oven ingitor. Do I need a safty Valve?
Answer Hello Cory. You need to test and see if there is power coming to the oven igniter. If so, replace the igniter in the unit. If not, replace the control board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
my stove top burners work fine. when i try to light the oven the panel shows 350 for a couple of seconds and then goes down to 100 and stays there.the broiler goes to set and i set it to hi or lo and nothing. i replaced the ignighter but nothing changed. It had a code when i tried to set the broiler, 5A6, but i reset it and i don't see it now. thank you,
Answer Rick, Since you have a new igniter, you're sure it was not damaged during the installation ? You'll need to check for 120 volts to the igniter from the clock. You'll need a multimeter, disconnect the wires from the new igniter and test for voltage across the two wires from the cabinet wire harness, no voltage would indicate a broken wire or a faulty clock relay. if you have the voltage, reattach the wires, program a bake cycle, and check for 3.2 to 3.6 volts a/c across the terminals on the bake valve, no voltage would indicate a broken/loose wire or damaged new igniter. Here's some meter usage information, [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Good Luck and Thanks
