My oven doesn't work but the burners do. I turned it on but nothing happens / nothing glows. I disconnected the wires to the safety control valve and jumped the wires and turned on the oven and now the igniter will glow. Does this mean the safety gas valve is bad, I think so.

Hello, my oven is malfunctioning, while taking over 4 1/2 minutes to ignite after setting a bake session. Viewing the igniter it is red hot, and there is no gas smell. After the four minutes, there is click and the gas immediately ignites. Also, one time set oven to bake at 400 degrees, which it went up to the proper temperature. The over failed to maintain temperature, and had to cancel and restart another bake session. What is the problem? Temperature sensor? Control Panel? Gas Safety Valve? Greg

Amana slide-in gas range. top burners and oven broiler are fine. Oven igniter does not heat at all. Does my oven have only one oven safety valve for both oven and broiler? If so, can I safely assume its my igniter, not safety valve?

hello the stove top is working fine and the ignitor for bake /broiler is working as well you can see it is lit up however I can not bake or broil the oven temp does not go up. If I leave the oven on for an hour the temp goes to 175 degrees which I believe is the heat the ignitor is putting out from being on so long. there are no codes displayed on the computer overlay so I am not sure if the problem is the block or gas safety valve? Thank you
