Need help removing old valve and replacing new valve.
Answer Hello George. Turn off the water and the power. Remove the toe panel. Now you can access the water valve. Press in on the compression fittings and remove the water lines from the old valve. Then unplug the wires and remove the screws securing the valve to the unit. Install new water valve in reverse order.
I need help disconnecting the hoses to the valve I am replacing. The part number is AP5685035.
Answer Hello Tommy,
These are John Guess fittings. To remove them, push the water line into the valve and with this pressure applied, push the ring around the line toward the valve. While continuing this pressure, pull the water line out. To re-install, push the water line into the fitting and when it bottoms, push harder. When it "pops" in another 1/4 of an inch or so, the water line is installed. Pull on the water line without touching the ring around it and this seats the seal. Check for leaks before enclosing into the appliance to avoid possible water damage to your home.
