Hot water is going into the washer instead of cold. Is the temperature control valve bad?
Answer Hello Ron,
These machines are designed to control the water temperature regardless of what temperature you choose. This means if the tap cold is colder than 65°F or thereabouts, the unit will kick on the hot water to bring the water temperature up to a satisfactory level. The reason for this is the fact that if the water temperature is below about 65°F, the detergents' chemical reaction will not be activated and in effect, the detergent has been wasted. For this reason, the engineers made the unit control the temperature of the water through the use of a temperature sensor on the water inlet valve 21001827.
