Bosch says I should install a non-metallic thermal break in the 6" round exhaust ducting to the outside but offers no guidance on what to use. 715557A seems to be the ONLY product available for this purpose but I can find no specs or instructions. Could you confirm that it is intended for this purpose and is compatible with standard 6" round galvanized duct? Is it attached with sheet metal screws or some other means? Any other suggestions? Do you sell metal vent covers for the outside wall? Thank you! Bernie

Answer Hello Bernie,
This part 715557A should work satisfactorily for the purpose of a thermal break. It should be installed with metallic tape TJMA-322-2. We don't, as far as I know, sell the outside vent parts. I would recommend to go to an air conditioning installer and have the part manufactured for the specifications you need.
Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
i have the jennair gas electric grill range with downdraft. i was told by jennair to order this part to control/solve the problem i have the wind coming into the house via the exterior wall vent. how do you install this part?
Lou for Model Number seg196
Answer Lou, the [Ap4090441} is an insulated flex vent designed to work as a "weather break" in case the metal exhaust vent under the floor or in the wall should freeze from the outside weather. What you want or need is a vent hood, with flapper A406. When the exhaust fan is running the flapper opens, when the fan is off, the flapper closes and the air is stopped at the hood, and does not blow into the house.
Good Luck and Thanks
