My dishwasher gets water into the control panel. We think it may be leaking into the area through the vent but not sure. Is there any idea of how to fix this issue. It will get water into the control panel and short it out causing the dishwasher to stop. Once the water is dried out the dishwasher will turn on again.
Answer Rachel, Check and make sure the water is not too hot, the average water temperature in the tub should be 120 - 125 dgrs. F. This will allow the water heating options to operate properly without producing steam. Check and make sure the vent cover in the door is installed properly, the large opening should be pointed down towards the bottom of the door. When you remove the control panel, you'll find a foam gasket on the right side surrounding the vent openings in the panel, check and make sure there is an indentation in the foam where it meets the vent opening, if not add one or two seals 99003222 to the panel, so there's a good tight seal between the panel and the end of the vent outlet. Lastly, check the door liner and outer panel to make sure they are attached to the hinge assembly tightly, and check the inner door liner to see if it is warped or "tweaked" and not sealing properly.
I have replaced the vent, and the door seal and it is still leaking from the front, does the door seal need to be put in with a gasket glue?
Answer Hello Nancy,
You should look closely at the spray arms. They will sometimes separate where they are put together at the factory and cause a surge of water to come from the side of them. This will put a wave in the water as the spray arm circulates. Stopped up holes in the spray arms will also cause the same effect. The door seal does not glue in.
