Our washer is not getting dishes as clean as it used to. Thinking maybe the wash arm is the problem. When we spin the wash arm by hand it wobbles and hits the back of the internal rear feed cap. Makes us think it's prevented from turning properly during operation. Does this sound like a possible explanation? Or is that type of wobble normal (i.e., does pressure during operation keep a "wobbly" wash arm from hitting the rear feed cap)? Suggestions?
Answer Hi Kevin. You need to inspect each part individually to see if they are properly connected. If the water tube assy. part # 8559849 is loose from the back wall and the top, then this will mis-align the wash arms. Especially if the wash pump filters are clogged, it will not allow the pressure to properly spin the wash arms. Use a pick tool to rinse out the inverted wash arm and to dislodge the clogged water jets in the end of the arms. Then you need to have a wet vac. assist to get all the debris as you remove the racks and the top of the wash pump assy. Working down into the unit and cleaning all individual parts one by one. Laying them aside as so you know how to reassemble them correctly. Inspect the black round impeller blade for broken vanes. This will impede pressure issues. Impeller part # 8193951. Thank You.
washer arm assembly #ap3129618 makes clunking noise and is loose, canmove side to side. Can you tell me how to remove it and inspect for other damage ie bushings seals and so forth. And then replace with a new item or repair parts TY.
Answer David, There should be some "wobble" in the spray arm assembly(s), but not as much as you imply. Here is the reccomended procedure : Removing the Inner Feed Tube and Lower Spray Arm The Inner Feed Tube is held in place by two (2) screws. One is located on the inner top of the dishwasher tub. The second is located on the back of the dishwasher tub.1. Remove the two (2) dishracks from the dishwasher tub. 2. Remove the two (2) screws securing the Inner Feed Tube to the inside of the dish washer tub. 3. Rotate the rear feed cap ¼ turn clockwise. 4. The entire inner water tube assembly and the lower spray arm assembly can now be removed from the dishwasher tub." The "thumb screw is a standard thread( turn it counterclockwise) and the hub is a "twist fit" on the hub of the feed tunnel. Thanks and Good Luck
Can you tell me how to install the lower wash spray arm part #8268332?
Answer Hello Craig. I have included a link to a digram that details the spray arm assembly in this message. If you look at the diagram you can see part 4, the spray arm hub. You can hold this part in place and the spray arm will screw off/on. I hope this info helps.
