After a power outage, all the lights on dial would light up and flash twice, every 15 seconds or so and while starting a cycle, water would run for about 15 seconds and shut off. Philip S. • Alexandria, VA • March 22, 2014

Hello I have been trying to fix this washer I have bought and replaced both the control board and the dial switch. The lights on the control where the dial is will not advance or do anything when turning the dial. if I unplug the power and plug it back in the lights will will change but washer does nothing. I got it to fill one time but after that it does nothing. right now the light is stuck on complete. Any other ideas?

After some power outages I noticed that all 14 lights on the electronic dial were lit up. I unplugged machine and plugged back it. I started regular wash and it started filling. After about 15 seconds all the lights on dial came back on. The machine continued filling and then did nothing. I unplugged it again and plugged it back in. This time is started agitating but never advanced to spin. Every time I unplug machine and plug it back in I can change cycle by turning dial, but then after about 15 seconds all the lights are back on and cycles do not advance. I did one load by unplugging and replugging 6 times, What tests or parts do I need?

My washer will not go any cycles. If I unplug the machine and then when it lights up turn it too pause then turn it to a cycles: then it will fill up with water, then after it washes I have to stop it and then turn it to spin and then same process for filling with rinse cycle.

Latest Questions

machine completes cycle and shows finished. then it starts filling again and stops when water level is reached and doesn't do anything more. Unless I unplug the machine or turn off the water it starts filling water all by itself. Kinda spooky.

I have a maytag mav551eeww. It will only run for a short period of time before it shuts off. It does not matter what cycle you put it in. I am suspecting the control board. Is there anyway to test it?

When washer is turned on it runs for a short time then shuts off and the lights on the front panel blink on and off twice. This will happen on any cycle.
