First symptom-- washer would not drain completely. However, by changing cycles, etc., washer would eventually empty completely. Finally, it appears belt broke. Suggestions?

Latest Questions

My washer is not spinning out the clothes.... it started gradually but now the clothes are all soaking wet and I have to ring them out even after trying the spin cycle several times. Is it a belt issue or something else?

Washer only makes a high pitched whinning sound when on wash, spin or any cycle. It did pump some of the water out and quit.

Wash cycle works fine and you can hear the motor running as normal.. When it came time for the spin cycle it sounded like a jet taking off, but it worked !! Then after a few times using the washer with the same response up until the spin cycle.. It would continue with the sound like it was washing (during the spin cycle).. I opened the lid and it was not spinning at all. I had to wring out the clothes to put them in the dryer.. It it a belt broke that keeps it from spinning ? Thanks for your information in advance..
