My washer is not spinning my clothes dry enough. They are still to wet after spin cycle. I moved my washer away from wall and there is a lot of black powdery residue I assume is coming from the belt. Is this normal and could the belts need replaced and that is why the spin cycle is not affective?

Just before the spin cycle, the washer made a sound like it was going to begin the spin cycle, but the washer just went dead. Tried moving it to a different cycle but still nothing. After a few minutes the washer actually would turn on but still wouldn't go through any cycles. It will just hum like something is locked up. I was told it needed a new pump and belt. Does anyone know if this is actually what is needed.

During the spin cycle the washing machine makes a loud thumping noise like it is out of balance and travels across the floor. It also leaves an extreme amount of black soot all over the base of the machine and the floor.
