Kenmore washer model 110 92291100 All cycles work, but will not spin or drain. There is no hum or noise that spin cycle is trying to turn on. Checked drain hose for kinks and clogs -- o k. Also held down lid switch -- no spin. Looking for motor but do not have part number. Any suggestions?
Answer Bill, You've pretty much isolated the issue to a lid switch 285671 or the timer 3357392. Were the issue the motor 661600 the machine would not agitate/wash the clothes. We would recommend you test the lid switch circuit, with a multi meter, to insure the switch circuit "opens" and "closes" then test or circuit check the timer. If the motor runs in the wash/agitate direction, there is a 99% chance it will run in the spin direction, as long as the lid switch circuit is closed and the timer is supplying the voltage to the motor.
Motor hums but tub does not spin out the water. What is the cause .
Answer Hello Sam. If the unit is humming, and there is nothing binding or stuck in the pump, you will want to check and make sure the motor coupling is good. If so, the timer on the unit is bad it sounds like. It sounds like the contact is stuck in the timer and is powering both directions of the motor.
