I just looked at the dishwasher it seemed to be leaking from around the water inlet. The area was covered with soap scum and their was soap scum on the floor. I did not know it was a water inlet. I pulled it apart and cleaned everything up and siliconed the seal and where the seal makes contact to the housing. My question is with all the soap scum do you think the dish washer is over flowing, they said the problem is a intermitant leak.

Answer Dan, If there is soap residue and the unit was leaking then it may be too much detergent usage. Too much detergent can cause excess sudsing which will lead to dripping issue.

Just ordered part wpl 8193508 inlet-water and received it, question is should I lube the seal with something before install?

How to remove and replace water inlet kit on Whirlpool dishwasher?

Answer Hello Lee. You will need to uninstall the dishwasher and remove the hoses going to the water inlet. Then remove the grey vent by twisting it off of the water inlet. Once the grey vent is removed, the water inlet will pull off the dishwasher. Reinstall with the new part in reverse order. Hope this helps.
