I have a unit that is leaking water inside on the right hand side under the filter and it's freezing it leaks no matter what I can't see any leaks in hoses or lines anywhere. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Answer Hello Kevin,
This is an air circulation problem. It can be caused by several issues but the most common can be corrected by adjusting the temperatures. When the unit is in the cooling mode, the fan in the freezer is running and this mixes and stirs the air which equalizes the temperature throughout the compartment. If the fresh food section is set too warm, the unit sits idle too long and the cold air in the top section will settle to the bottom of the compartment. This freezes the water tank 12956202. The tank will rupture and leak. Replacing the water tank will only correct the problem caused by lack of air circulation. For this reason, it is advised to turn the temperature in the freezer warmer and the fresh food section colder. I know this sounds backwards but in doing this you are calling for the fan to run longer which keeps the colder, heavier air from settling to the bottom of the fresh food compartment and causing the issue to reccur.
Hello I just ordered this Water Tank/Head Assy for my MFI2569VEM1 and I was wondering if there is a place to go for instructions on how to replace it.
Answer Hello Jared,
In order to replace the water tank on this unit you will first need to pull unit out and turn off water. Remove lower cover on back of unit and disconnect water line. You then need to remove the shelving in the refrigerator compartment. pull filter out and cover off filter head. Using flat blade screwdriver, put in holes in panel of back wall to release the clips to remove panel. You will then pull out the water tank and disconnect from water valve. Reinstall in reverse.
