The water dispenser tube end has calcium buildup and it constantly drips. Can't stop the dripping. Would replacing the Water Tube Assembly fix that, or is there some shut-off valve in the refrigerator that needs replacing?
To get the dispenser from dripping you will want to install a check valve 8201815. The check valve would be installed at the bottom of the freezer door. When you remove the kickplate, there is the water line. You will want to cut the water line on the 1/4" side and install the check valve with the arrow pointing toward the door.
My water dispenser is slowly leaking due to (I think) calcium buildup visible on the tube. Would replacing the Water Tube Assembly be the answer? Or replacing the Water Dispenser Lever? Or is there an on-off valve somewhere in the works?
Answer C. Kinion,
Replacing the water tube will make it so that there is not calcium build up but will not correct the dripping issue. To correct the dripping issue you will want to install a check valve at the bottom of the freezer door. The check valve is part number 8201815. You would remove the kickplate and cut the 1/4" tubing. Install the check valve with the arrow pointing toward the freezer door.
