The tube running inside the freezer door is broken off down at the bottom door hinge. Apparently someone had taken the freezer door off. What is this line? And how do I go about fixing it? Or, is it supposed to just stuff up inside the door? Thank You

Answer Tim, This is a 1/4" tubing 4388152 and you would need to take the door liner off in order to install this part.

I am replacing the tubing for the icemaker water supply and need to know how to take the existing tubing out?

Answer Namu, When you are replacing the water line for the icemaker you will first turn off water. Once water is off, remove the lower cover of the back of refrigerator. Take water valve loose. The Water line is connected to a john guess compression fitting. When removing you will push in on the ring around the water line and pull out on hose. If there is the same type of fitting at the top then you would release the same way. If there is not, then you would have to cut the line below where it enters the back of refrigerator and use a coupling to connect the 2 lines together.

Answer Luke, Your refrigerator does not have an "internal filter" system. If you do have a filter it would be an "in line " filter GXRTDR and may be located behind the refrigerator on the floor or wall.

Answer Hello Michael, It sounds like the ferrel that goes to the compression nut may have either not been put on or is twisted cutting into the tubing.

What's the part on the back of the refrigerator that goes up from the bottom to the water filler tube? There's floating white stuff in my ice when it melts and I'm not sure exactly what it is. Any ideas?

Answer Hello Jeremy. The part you are reffering to is the water valve W10408179. You need to check and see if some of the coating is coming off the icemaker. If so, you will need to replace the icemaker 4317943 in the unit.

I Need to replace plastic line that goes from the water inlet valve up the back of refrigerator to the water filter. Will the old line pull out or is there a tool that I need to disconnect it from the valve & filter? Thanks!

Answer Hello Steve, The filter housing has to be removed from the top inside of the fresh food compartment to remove and replace the water line. The fittings are called john guess fittings. To remove the water line, push it in harder and while applying the pressure, hold the ring around the line towards the valve and the line will release from the fitting. To reinstall, push the line in the fitting and the line will stop. At this point you need to push harder and it will "pop" in about another 1/4 inch. To seal the fitting, pull on the line.
