I have a Maytag Ensignia washer and we have very hard water. the washing machin went from using hot water and cold to just cold and when it starts the cycles it drips all the time and sometimes after washer is off there is a inch or 2 of water in tub left. We have recently replaced our hot water heater and added a water softener and now both functions (hot and cold) work but the hot water will not turn off now just keeps running and running. I read on line to check a few things and I did what they said and when I unplug the machine it still runns full flow so for the time being I just turned the hot water off at the line. I am scared that the cold is going to start doing this too. I have read that it is a WATER INLET VALVE issue. Is this the most likely cause due to the very hard water in the past years have damaged the valve? I am going to replace the valve but want to make sure this is the correct one before I buy it, it looks idenitcal to the one on the machine, Thank you, Robin

Water is slowly dripping into the washer tub when the washer is off (after a wash cycle has ended). After one or two days there is about one inch of water in the tub. Washer is Maytag Atlantis Model MAV8551AWW, Serial No. 16268770CE, purchased in April 2003. Would this be likely to be due to the water inlet valve leaking? If so, what is the part number of the replacement, and how do I get to this part in the washer?

I have only cold water - no hot. On warm setting no water at all flows. I switched the inlet lines - on cold water setting hot water flows. On hot water setting and warm, no water flows.

The water shuts off fine under full pressure but when pressure is down water continues to flow into the washer.
