My water line on the refrigerator has a pinhole crack in it. How hard would it be for me to replace or is this a job that would be better left to a professional? Thanks
Answer Hello Fred,
If the water line is after the water inlet valve, you can usually repair these with a John Guess fitting, (WR02X11330 for 1/4 inch water line to 1/4 inch water line). Just cut the water line off squarely and put into the fitting. When it bottoms, push harder and it will "pop" in about another 1/4 inch. Then pull to seat the seal. If you ever have to remove them, push in on the line, hold the ring around the line against the fitting and pull on the water line. This will release the line and it will come right out.
where do I find the brass fitting for the end of the waterline? I need the fitting for the supply line.
Answer Brent, If I understand you correctly, You need the brass nut and ferrel for a 1/4 inch ice maker / water supply line. Those are available at any local hardware or home improvement store. Good Luck and Thanks
