After mixing a somewhat heavy dough, which caused the unit to get quite hot, the unit would not restart. While the dough was mixing (at about 4 on the selector) I noticed that the top of the mixer was hot. The unit did not fail while mixing, instead, after I shut it off, it would not restart. Also, after the dough was mixed, the mixing mechanism would not turn. I assumed that dough had gotten into the gearing and caused it to seize. I was able to take it apart and free up the gears, though I did not open the planetary gears themselves.
I am assuming that the heat in the device caused some type of thermistor to blow, but when the machine is open, I can't tell where such a device would be.
Thank you for all your help.
Answer Hello John. It sounds like you could have issues with either the motor 9703571 or the speed control board 9705504. The motor usually has a switch that would shut if off before it over heats. Thanks!
I believe the thermistor for this unit is blown. Do you know if the thermistor is include in this wire assembly?
Answer Hello John. No, this cable does not have a thermistor included with it. What is the issue you are experiencing? Thanks!
