The manual I have says; the shaft and pinion has 11 teeth on the K45SS. All other models have 10 teeth. Is this right? Do I need a different part?

I need to replace the gears in the mixer with part AP3177688. Do I need to lubricate this part after installation or is it already greased appropriately? How difficult a task is it to replace the part?....I am a novice.

My version of this part is all metal. The larger worm gear is not plastic/metal. Also the base 5 mounting holes. The part on this page seems to have 1) a nylon gear, and 2) 1-2 studs vs all the mounting holes. Is there another part that is same size and is all metal and has no studs AND only screw holes?

The picture showes the part I believe I need but the worm gear appears like it maybe a plastic gear. Then one I just stripped out was metal and I am concerned a plastic one will not hold up. Can you tell me if it is plastic or not. If so, is there a metal version? If I purchase just the gear can I get it in metal?
