Cecil J.

I can't gain access to the kenmore oven hinge receptacle. Range model # is 79096429401, serial vf4488580. Hinge kit purchased is part # ap3850969 and contains instructions 316003371 revision a. These instructions are ok for door hinge, but bad for receptacle, "remove the two self tapping screws that secure the receptacle to the oven chassis frame the receptacle will probably fall into the bodyside leg channel where it can be retrieved". No openings exist to bodyside channel legs without removing more panels. Which ones? And how? Please help!

Answer

Hello Cecil, Raise the main top and remove the screws along the upper edge of the body side panel. Remove the screws down the back edge of the body side panel. Be sure to keep up with where the screws go since there are different sizes. Remove the body side and replace the part. Reinstall in the reverse order, making sure you get the screws back in the correct holes.
