Pete for Model Number gs6209g00ww The pump assembly does doen not drain How do you disassemble the lower spray unit to see if it is plugged?
Answer Hi Pete. Use a bucket and put the drain hose from under the sink connection. Use a screwdriver to see if the drain hose or sink drain is clogged. Then place the unit in drain and see if it drains into a bucket. Place a loop into the hose and secure it as high as you can under the sink at the back wall. Then remove the lower kick plate and remove the pump and see if it is clogged as well. If the impeller is spinning loose on the shaft then it will not drain as well. The pump is part # WD26X10016. This spray arm part # WD22X10047 pulls upward to release. This way you can remove from the top of the sump assy. with a shop vac and cleaning as you go. If the chopper blade is clogged or damaged it needs replaced as well. It is part # WD19X10032. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 12, 2012
