Tom for Model Number MFI2568AES Ice maker stopped working. Found white grains of something in the bin. The 2 cogs in the front which I believe turn the ice discharge are in perfect condition. The auger turns fine when selected. In the far back of the ice maker where I believe the water is added to the maker was a frozen bock of ice right to the top of the compartment. Is there another set of white cogs that could have stripped and ended up in the bin other from the ice maker itself? I thawed out the block and waiting to see if anything happens. I don't want to buy the ice maker and find out it was another part that failed. Thanks
Answer Tom, With the fill cup being clogged with ice then this issue would most likely be a faulty water valve allowing water to seep into the icemaker. The other thing to check is with the ice bin to make sure that the ice bin is not damaged in any way. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 2, 2017
