Safety precautions

When working on any appliance, remember to keep safety first. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Always power off and unplug your appliance or switch off the circuit breaker before you attempt any maintenance or replacement work. This keeps you safe by preventing any risk of electric shock.
  • Turn off the water supply at the outlet before beginning repairs. Keep towels ready to catch any residual water in the system when removing parts.
  • If the appliance has recently been used, give it plenty of time to cool down before working on it.
  • Take your time while working to prevent accidents and personal injuries. Rushing is the enemy of precision.
  • Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see and access appliance parts.
  • Keep your workspace free of clutter and other obstacles. Keep children and pets away from the work area.
  • Check the user manual to see if there are specific installation or safety instructions related to your appliance or replacement part.
  • Be gentle when handling or removing parts. Excessive force might damage the appliance or cause personal injury.
  • Wear insulated work gloves to protect your hands from sharp metal parts and debris.
  • Consider wearing safety glasses and/or a dust mask when working with chemicals, dust or a large amount of debris to prevent irritation or injury.

Adjustment steps

Step 1 – Remove the upper rack

  1. Pull the upper rack forward until it’s about halfway out of the dishwasher tub.
  2. Find the track stops at the end of each rail. Flip them towards the outside of the dishwasher to open them.
  3. Gently pull the upper rack out of the rails and set it aside.
  4. Close the track stops by flipping them back to their original position.
  5. Slide the empty rails back into the dishwasher.

Step 2 – Replace the upper rack

  1. Gently pull the tracks forward from the dishwasher until they stop and are fully extended.
  2. Flip the track stops to the open position.
  3. Position the rack near the dishwasher and place the back wheels of the rack into the corresponding slots on each track.
  4. Carefully roll the rack back into the tracks, but stop before pushing it all the way in.
  5. Align the front wheels of the rack with the track slots and gently place them inside.
  6. Slide the rack into the dishwasher so that it’s aligned and seated in the tracks.
  7. Make sure the track stops are flipped back to their closed position to secure the rack in the dishwasher.

Step 3 – Adjust the rack wheel height

  1. If you’re adjusting from a different position, remove the rack by following the above process detailed in step 1.
  2. Decide on the new height for the upper rack based on the size of the items you want to place in the dishwasher, then insert the rack at the chosen height by aligning either the top or bottom wheels attached to the rack with the tub tracks.
  3. Slide the rack into the tracks. Make sure it’s stable and properly aligned.
  4. Close the track stops to secure the rack in its new position.
