Move items into a temperature safe container \u2013 even the fresh food compartment could be sufficient if you have room. If there\u2019s a lot of frost buildup in your freezer, you\u2019ll want to remove that, also.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once your frozen goods are relocated, disconnect the appliance from power, either by unplugging it or flipping the circuit breaker. This is vitally important! You should never perform maintenance on an appliance that is still receiving power, especially if you are working with the wiring.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With that done, you can finally get started!<\/span>\r\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replacing A Freezer Temperature Sensor<\/span><\/h3>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set aside at least 25 minutes to get this job done \u2013 more if you haven\u2019t cleared your freezer out yet. If you\u2019re an experienced DIYer, we should have you on your way even faster!<\/span>\r\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step One: Remove the upper drawer<\/span><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re starting out assuming you\u2019ve already cleared out your freezer, so if you haven\u2019t done that yet, now\u2019s the time to do so! You\u2019ll then want to move the rails up as far as they will go. Gripping both sides, tip the bin up slightly and carefully remove it from the freezer. You will then need to slide the bins toward the back to dislodge them and lift them out of the refrigerator. To remove the door, you\u2019ll need to first remove the four bolts holding it in place. There are two on either side, inside the rail, close to the door. First, though, you may need to free it from the rails. To do this, simply press down on each rail to dislodge it from the tab holding it in place. This will need to be removed as well. To do that, grip it and push it to the right until you\u2019re able to remove it from the left gear. This should free it up so you can set it aside.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the connecting rod out, you can push the rails back into the freezer.<\/span>\r\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step Five: Remove the ice maker<\/span><\/h4>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Time to take the ice maker out of the freezer. Here\u2019s how you do that:<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start by removing the plastic cover on the front of the ice maker. It will click as it releases from its mounting tabs. Don\u2019t pull it out of the refrigerator!
