Please be very careful to protect yourself from electric shock, which has the potential to cause serious injuries. Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Set your multimeter to measure AC voltage (VAC).<\/li>\n<li>Plug the range back in.<\/li>\n<li>Use the meter probes to measure the voltage between the L1 (double black wire) and L2 (double red wire) terminals. You should get a reading of 240 volts AC.<\/li>\n<li>If you have 240 VAC between L1 and L2, set the infinite switch to turn on the element.<\/li>\n<li>Measure the voltage between the H1 (orange and orange with violet stripe) and H2 (yellow) terminals. You should also get 240 VAC here.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you have the proper 240 VAC readings between L1-L2 and H1-H2, then the switch is functioning correctly and something else may be preventing your range from working correctly.
