If the reading is outside this range, the sensor needs to be replaced. If the sensor passes the test, reconnect the wire and continue troubleshooting.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bake element testing<\/h3>\n<p><strong><em>LIVE VOLTAGE WARNING: <\/em><\/strong><em>For this test, the appliance needs to be plugged in and powered on. Please be very careful to protect yourself from electric shock, which has the potential to cause serious injuries. Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Plug the power cord back in, as you&#8217;ll be testing for live voltage.<\/li>\n<li>Set your multimeter to AC voltage mode (V~ or V with a squiggly line).<\/li>\n<li>Set the oven control to bake mode.<\/li>\n<li>Place the multimeter probes at each wire connecting to the bake element.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the bake element receives 240 Volts AC and it doesn&#8217;t heat, the element needs to be replaced. If the bake element does not receive 240 Volts AC, the oven control switch is the likely cause of the failure.
