Remove the two door springs, open the door, and remove the lint screen.<\/li>\n<li>Use a \u00bc-inch nut driver to remove the three screws holding the blower housing and remove it.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the yellow wire at the bottom of the front panel.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the two \u00bc-inch screws at the bottom of the front panel.<\/li>\n<li>Use a Torx 20-bit to remove the two screws at the top of the outer door panel.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.appliancepartspros.com\/b\/how-to-replace-a-dryer-door-switch-with-video\/\">door switch<\/a> and lift off the front panel.<\/li>\n<li>Reach underneath to release the drum belt from the idler pulley.<\/li>\n<li>Use the drum belt to lift the drum out of the dryer to access the motor connections.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2. Test the drive motor<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"12\">\n<li>Set the multimeter to voltage, place one probe in the 4M terminal and the other in the 5M terminal of the motor switch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>LIVE VOLTAGE WARNING: <\/em><\/strong><em>For this test, the <\/em><em>dryer <\/em><em>needs to be plugged in and powered on. Please be very careful to protect yourself from electric shock, which has the potential to cause serious injuries. Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"13\">\n<li>Reconnect the door switch and ensure the belt switch is engaged before powering the dryer.<\/li>\n<li>Restore power and press the &#8220;push to start&#8221; switch. If the reading is 120VAC and the motor doesn\u2019t start, the motor needs to be replaced. If there is no voltage, check for other issues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3. Remove the drive motor<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"15\">\n<li>To remove the motor, remove the top panel and bottom panel again, if necessary, by repeating the earlier steps.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the drum, blower housing, and lint screen, and disconnect the yellow wire and door switch.<\/li>\n<li>Loosen the drum belt and remove the drum.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the two screws securing the blower wheel cover.<\/li>\n<li>Insert a \u00bd-inch socket extension into the blower wheel hub. Secure the belt pulley with vise grips or a pipe wrench.<\/li>\n<li>Use a socket wrench to rotate the extension to the right (reverse thread) to remove the blower wheel. If the wheel is stuck, use a hammer and screwdriver to break it off.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the motor clips, noting the wire connections, and take a photo if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the belt switch wire and motor wiring, then remove the motor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4.
