Using a quarter inch nut driver, take out two screws on the top, two screws inside the trash compactor frame, and two screws outside at the bottom of the trash compactor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pull the machine front panel from the body. Keep in mind that it&#8217;s still connected to a number of switches with electrical wires and can&#8217;t be completely removed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a flat blade screwdriver, take off the orange and double yellow wires from the top of the directional switch. This will provide more room to work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a flat blade screwdriver, remove the wires from the actuator switch.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Push down the locking tabs and remove the old switch.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take off the pedal. Place the drawer assembly on its back and using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two side screws and remove the pedal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take out the two Phillips screws and remove the broken actuator from the pedal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove two screws and remove the old toe guard.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Installation<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Install the new toe guard and secure it with the two Phillips screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Install the pedal and also secure it with a couple of Phillips screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Install the new actuator switch with the terminals facing up and connect the wires.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reconnect the double yellow and orange wires to the directional switch.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reinstall the machine front panel and using a quarter inch nut driver, secure the six screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a utility knife and a piece of wood, cut out the rectangular piece on the side of the template.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Put the template over the switch.
