Locate the bucket along the top interior of the freezer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grip the sides of the ice bucket, lift up slightly, and pull straight outward to detach the bucket.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carefully set the ice bucket aside on a towel to prevent scratching the bucket or surrounding floor\/counter.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the bucket removed, you&#8217;ll have clear access to the ice crusher housing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Removing the ice crusher cover<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To access the crusher blades, you&#8217;ll need to detach the outer cover:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws located on the underside edges of the cover.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carefully flip the ice bucket assembly over to access the two cover screws on the opposite side. Remove these screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With all screws detached, slowly separate the cover from the housing and set it aside.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take care when removing the cover to avoid damaging the plastic components. Work slowly and avoid bending or twisting the cover.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Removing the E-clip and washer<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before removing crusher components, two small parts need to be detached:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the e-clip located at the base of the crusher drive shaft. Insert the screwdriver into the gap in the e-clip and flex it outward to release its grip.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove the metal washer sitting below the e-clip and set both parts aside for reinstallation later.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Removing the auger cover<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the e-clip and washer detached, the auger cover can be removed:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a quarter-inch nut driver to remove the two screws securing the auger cover to the drive assembly housing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate the release tab along the side of the auger cover. Pull outward to detach this bar from the ice door.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rotate the loose auger cover and lift it off the assembly. Set it aside carefully.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Removing the auger nut and blades<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now the crusher blades can be accessed:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use pliers to loosen and unthread the auger nut from the end of the drive shaft. Remove the nut and set it aside.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One at a time, lift off the auger spacers and blades. Note the order and orientation of each part. Set them aside.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove the bottom spacer and finally lift off the ice crusher blade to be replaced.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take care when handling the sharp crusher blades during disassembly.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replacing ice crusher blade\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You now can install the new replacement ice crusher blade:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check that the new blade has the correct numbering marked on the underside.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Position the new blade in the same orientation as the old one, with the numbered side facing down.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the bottom spacer atop the blade. You are now ready to reassemble the auger components.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reassembling the auger assembly<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reinstall all the components in reverse order:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stack spacers and blades in the sequence noted during disassembly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thread the auger nut back onto the end of the drive shaft. Tighten down completely using pliers if needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the auger cover in place, aligning the tab with the ice door cutout. Resecure with screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replace the e-clip and washer on the drive shaft base. Press firmly to ensure the e-clip clicks into place.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replacing the outer cover<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You&#8217;re now ready to finish reassembly:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Align the edges of the outer cover over the housing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a Phillips screwdriver to reinstall the two underside cover screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flip the assembly over and screw in the two top cover screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reinstalling the ice bucket<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The last step is to put the ice bucket back in place:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Align the ice bucket rails and steadily slide the bucket back into the interior freezer tracks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once fully inserted, close the freezer door.
