Press the release tabs and detach.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now we can detach the freezer door itself:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lift the door up and off the metal glide rails. No need to remove any screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Push the detached rails back into the freezer compartment and out of the way.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Removing the freezer door<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the door removed, we need to unscrew the rails to detach them fully:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take out the two Phillips screws securing the upper right rail and remove it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remove the three screws from the lower right rail and detach it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the left side, remove the two screws from the upper rail and take it off.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take out the three screws on the lower left rail. Disconnect the wire harness before fully removing it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accessing the sensor<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the rails detached, we can now access the rear panel and temperature sensor:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a putty knife to pry off the duct cover on the back panel. Release the locking tabs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert the putty knife into the side seam of the rear access panel. Slowly pry it outward.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once released, pull off the panel fully. Disconnect the wire harness plugs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carefully position the panel out of the way without straining the wiring.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replacing the sensor<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate and detach the old sensor from the plastic housing. Unplug it from the wire terminals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert the new temperature sensor into the holder properly and plug it into the harness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Route the wiring through the slit in the insulation panel. Make sure it&#8217;s positioned correctly.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reinstalling the evaporator cover<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, reconnect the wire harness plugs into the evaporator cover panel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Position the panel back into place, pressing firmly to re-seat the locking tabs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replace the duct cover, lining it up and snapping the tabs back into place.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reattaching the rails and freezer door<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert the bottom left rail first, plugging in the harness. Secure with three screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attach the top left rail with two screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, reinstall the top and bottom right rails using the screws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the rails in place, put the freezer door back on.
