Prepare the multimeter<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><i>LIVE VOLTAGE WARNING: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this test, the range oven needs to be plugged in and powered on. Please be very careful to protect yourself from electric shock, which has the potential to cause serious injuries. Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to read AC voltage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unplug the range during this preparation step.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 5. Test live voltage<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug the range back into the power outlet.
